Coming Soon to Landmark Theaters (5/16/09)
by Matt Gamble on May.16, 2009, under Coming Soon, Foreign Films, Movies
Lots of new additions this week, and most of them look incredibly promising. Francis Ford Coppola’s newest film, Tetro, is possibly the most highly anticipated from the group, but The World’s Greatest Dad, Meserine: Part One and Somers Town look incredibly promising as well. Toss in Jerichow and a pair of documentaries, The End of the Line and Afghan Star, and you’ve got a pretty diverse group of films being added to the booking schedule. Hopefully they all stay on there and see a release.

Only four more days til I get my cure for Soderbergh fever. Excitement. Can you feel it?

Thanks again for posting these – I can’t tell you how much easier it is than remember to flip through the binder.
No sign of “The Garden” yet, huh? I thought that would make it and actually play well here.
You seem awfully high on these August releases, no? Or are there some that you haven’t seen? It can be hard to tell, i.e. Rudo y Cursi.
Jerichow is a huge addition – I thought it was close to perfect after seeing it at MSPIFF. Even have it as a preliminary A- over your beloved Moon with a B+. But Moon has stayed strong, especially after Star Trek failed to do anything for me.
So I think Cuban finally figured it out with The Girlfriend Experience – that is a 29/29 – Magnolia, right? It’s been available On Demand for a while but I think at $9.99 instead of the usual $6.99.

Jesus dude, control yourself, everybody’s looking.
@Daniel
Nothing has popped up for The Garden yet. Don’t worry too much about that though. Outisde of about 2 weeks out the booking sheet is in constant flux.
I’ve seen Rudi Y Cursi and thought it was ok. Worth a watch and not much more. I’ve seen a few of the August releases (Not Quite Hollywood is freaking awesome and a must see for any movie buff) but mainly mark the ones that look interesting to me if I haven’t seen them yet. August just seems to have more experimental films then June or July at this point.
