Wow! a Cool World reference out of nowhere. I thought it was actually kind of enjoyable, though i'm sure Brad pitt would just as soon forget all about it.

Thankfully he's been relegated to making C-grade direct to DVD fare. Its a fate he deserves.

Supposedly Bakshi is working on a few films which he is privately funding. Rumor has it one of them is a sequel to Wizards.

As an animation student, if Frank Mancuso Jr were the only way to break into industry and I absolutely had to work with him or I'd never get a job in animation...I'd go take up teaching life drawing. What. A. Nightmare. A studio should be restricted as to what percentage of the original creative core content [plot. characters. artistic style.] can be altered. People like Bakshi should be protected from filth like this.
I would like to see a BAKSHI STUDIOS produced feature length film without interference from other studios.

My first Ralph Bakshi was Fritz....back in 1972. Animation like that should be revised and redone for the new age aficianados. Bakshi is a true innovator and the artists he worked with like Robert Crumb are likewise. Great info and thanks for the time!

We rented Wizards when I was young from the children's section.
I'm surprised my mom didn't sue the video store.

I haven't seen this in like forever. It's on my netflix list, though. slowly but surely moving it way closer to the top. After reading this, though, I may give it a little help to get up there...lol Love the site, btw! Keep it up!

I'm surprised Cool World isn't required viewing at film schools. A professor could just stand up and say "Did you watch Cool World? OK ... now ... don't do anything they did. Ever."

Yikes! I picked this up in a bargain bin a few years back, added it to the shelf and have never managed to see it. I've been inclined to pop it in a few times but never actually taken the leap. Looks like this one will sit on the shelf unwatched for a few more years.
