New Kick Ass trailer does exactly that

by Matt Gamble on Feb.20, 2010, under Comics, Movies, Previews, Trailers

Word of warning, it is a red band trailer, and it is most certainly NSFW.

That being said, its pretty flippin sweet and only gets me more excited for the film. Now the question is just how many girls will dress up as Hit Girl this Halloween?

Only the ones you should avoid at all costs.

My money is on the bad trailer being the better Werner Herzog film

by Matt Gamble on Aug.18, 2009, under Movies, Previews, Trailers

Most people know that Werner Herzog is directing a sequel/remake of Bad Lieutenant starring Nicholas Cage, and judging by the trailer Nicholas Cage has been unbridled and allowed to roam free in each take, overacting with reckless abandon, and with Val Kilmer and Brad Dourif on set, it might prove entertainingly infectious. But I have to admit, the trailer just isn’t selling me like it is for the rest of the Internet. The production values look horrible, and the one liners are so absurd that I find it hard to believe they will work in the context of the scenes, though I must admit they play well in the trailer. But while Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans has the more entertaining trailer, and thankfully lacks horrible narration from The Trailer Voice Guy, I really don’t think the movie is going to be worth a crap in the long run.

But I feel differently when it comes to My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done. Granted the trailer is so tired it appears utterly lifeless, but the cast is downright amazing. Headed up by the fantastic Michael Shannon, the rest of the cast boasts Willem Dafoe, Chloë Sevigny, Brad Dourif (In a Herzog film? Who would have guessed?), Michael Peña, and Udo Kier. As if that isn’t enough, it is produced by David Lynch, which would lead one to believe the film has far more up its sleeve then this trailer would ever let on. My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done may have the lesser of the two trailers, but I’d be willing to bet it ends up being the superior film.

How about you? Which film looks better, My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done or Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans?
