I must own this poster

Though a bus shelter sized version of this would be absolute bliss.

Quick Thoughts – Repo Men
by Matt Gamble on Mar.19, 2010, under Features, Movies, Quick Thoughts, Reviews
You know, I have to admit I went into Repo Men with low expectations, the trailer is downright terrible and looks completely unsure of what kind of movie it is marketing, and for an hour and a half Repo Men did nothing to convince me that this film was worth my time. In fact, the film was so dull, listless and obvious that I found myself quoting dialogue before the characters could utter it. Yeah, its one of those. But then something magical happened.
The final reel began and everything changed for the better. The pace quickened, and the film finally shook off its rust and began to fly loose with all sense of reality and good taste. Soon eye popping set pieces were in play, an Oldboy style hammer fight smacked me in the face with a freaking hacksaw, and the most disturbing organ transplant/sex scene cropped up out of left field and skull fucked me into sheer cinematic bliss. Oh that’s right, Repo Men skull fucked me.
And it hurt. So. Good.
And that’s right before the film grabbed its balls and swung for the fences with an ending that’s bound to piss off as many people as it pleases. And that’s when I realized, “Holy shit?! I think I love this movie!”

Mondo releases limited edition posters for Frozen and House of the Devil
by Matt Gamble on Feb.03, 2010, under Movies, Random Junk
Mondo has been making great screen printed posters for what seems like eternity, so it should come as little shock that they have once again out done themselves with their latest releases for House of the Devil and Frozen. Granted, I can see why people would wonder why House of the Devil needed a sweet limited edition poster when its original one sheet is already bloody fabulous, but the poster for Frozen is simply outstanding and one of their finest releases to date.
So swing over to Mondo and grab one of these, or dozens of other, great posters to hang on your wall. And if you’re really feeling frisky, pickup this fantastic Werner Herzog t-shirt while you’re at it.

All I want for Christmas is The House of the Devil One Sheet
by Matt Gamble on Aug.27, 2009, under Movies
I know more about the odd platform release of the film The House of the Devil then I do the actual film itself, but after seeing the ridiculously good one sheet I plan to find out much more. For those who don’t know, The House of the Devil is going to be released on October 1st through XBox Live and Amazon.com, but with it being picked up by Magnet, it will also get a limited theatrical release on October 30th.
The trailer pretty much sums up all I know about the film, that a young woman agrees to watch a house for an evening, and they turn out to be Satanists. The film is clearly playing homage to 70′s gothic horror films (check out that hair!) and the one sheet stays right in that same realm by being bloody fabulous. Make sure to click on the poster to see a full size version. Now that my interest is firmly piqued, I hope the film lives up to my rapidly growing expectations.
New Where the Wild Things Are trailer feeds me and I follow it around
by Matt Gamble on Aug.07, 2009, under Coming Soon, Movies, Trailers
I don’t know about you, but I can’t get enough of any of the promo material for Where the Wild Things Are. The teaser they released about a month or so ago was fantastic, the one sheets were great, but I want more, and I want it now.
Thankfully, Warner Brothers has answered my selfish pleas by releasing a full theatrical trailer just for me. And probably everyone else. In this one you actually get to see several of the Wild Things talk, yet it is still coy enough to not reveal too many details of the actual plot of the film, making the trailer more like an extended teaser. How the heck am I going to make it until its release on October 16th?
