James and I sit down to record our final podcast of the year, this time covering the newest James Cameron phenomenon, Avatar. But not just that, we also cover our year end lists for High and Low (Brow) giving our top 5 favorites (Highs) and our 5 worst (Lows) that we watched this year. For those of you who haven’t had enough lists, James and I also give our top 5 moments for the year as well.

And as if that isn’t enough, somewhere around the one hour mark things get totally weird when we abandon any and all formats and free form for what seems like an hour, probably because it is. Is it a good idea? Not really, but at least you get to hear about how James wishes he was Mark Hamill. Hope you enjoy this oddly overlong edition. And we’re back! It’s been a few weeks since last James and I met to discuss movies, and after we raced through our last episode of High and Low (Brow) we decided to have a bit more leisurely pace during this one. This episode we our theme is Killer Kids, as we focus on two films that have sadistic, murderous children in them. Those films being The Offspring (also known as From a Whisper to a Scream), starring Vincent Price and the far better known David Cronenberg film The Brood, starring mutant babies and the women who produce them.

But besides spending far too much time discussing sociopathic children, we take some time out of the show to discuss The Road, a film we had both seen earlier yet had not had time to discuss. And of course we round out the episode with our selection show, for the second episode in a row we change things up as this time I’m the one who knows nothing about the theme for next show as James lays out his cunning plan as he wrestles control of the show away from me. Will we end up with good movies for next time? Will I ever let James have any say ever again? Does James secretly curse at me when the tape isn’t recording? Tune in to find out.
