I just got final confirmation of the films playing at the Uptown as part of their midnight madness schedule next year and it is awesome. Seriously awesome. Every single film in the month of January will be making its Twin Cities premiere, which is one hell of an exciting feat. But the biggest news? Oh that’s easy. You see, they’ve got a US Premiere as well. A. US. Premiere.

Probably some crappy film, right? Right? Nope, its only the director’s cut of The Evil Dead. Damn that is cool, the only thing cooler is the remaining January lineup.

1/1-2: BIG FAN Twin Cities Premiere!

1/8-9: THE EVIL DEAD Directors’ uncut print! No one under 18 admitted!

1/15-16: THE ROOM Twin Cities Premiere!

1/22-23: BRONSON Twin Cities Premiere!

If this is what the first month of 2010 will offer, I can’t wait to see what The Uptown does for the rest of the year.

I highly recommend finding a torrent of the Room and sitting through it yourself (or with a friend) first before going to the group screening, if there are people there in the know they will do everything they can to confuse your first viewing of it even as they try to enhance it.

the midnight madness Room experience is for veterans :)

Big Fan is very good, but not best of year good.

[...] mentioned The Room a few times on this website (most recently for its Twin Cities premiere at The Uptown next month) but for those of you who have already watched the film you’ll be happy to know [...]
