I think the DVD is a television edit. I remember some extra scenes that are missing. More R rated.

I just saw this for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and I have to agree it’s a great guilty pleasure. My friend and I laughed most of the way through…and the presence of Shatner and Borgnine just makes it that much better. It’s an absolutely ridiculous film…but it’s definitely worth watching for the outrageous camp value alone.

It is actually a pretty fun movie to watch and worth owning for the weird factor alone. If it sits at your store for any length of time I may have you grab it for me.

Yup, the ending has a good solid 5 minute sequence where everyone melts. It isn’t much of a spoiler as it is all over the trailer for the film.

All through reading this, I kept murmuring, ‘I’ve, seen this, I’ve seen this…’ but it was presence of the Shatner that convinced me. I think I saw it when it first came out. I sense you’re avoiding spoilers, which I also always try to do but is there a sequence of ‘face-action’ a little similar to asubsequent ‘Raiders…’ sequence??

This DVD actually found its way into the store over the weekend. I thought about picking it up then realized I should spend my money on other, more important titles. From this review it sounds like it’s probably not worth the time it would take. Though I always enjoy good Shatner material.
