O'Bannon also wrote <a href="http://wherethelongtailends.com/archives/dark-star" rel="nofollow">Dark Star</a>. It should be interesting watching this with my girlfriend as it actually is supposed to be a pretty decent film, plus I know the twist and she doesn't.
