Coming off the delirious high that was Starcrash I decided this week I would stay with low budget films but would make a dramatic shift from lightsabers and Hasselhoff to quiet sleepy towns and zombies.

Mmmm … zombies.

So next week’s film is the underground (pun intended) 1981 cult hit, Dead and Buried.

So when they say “From the Creators of Alien,” do they mean one of the associate producers and, say, the key grip? I’m guessing Ridley Scott and Co. were nowhere near this thing.

Actually it is the two screen writers from Alien (Dan O’Bannon and Ronald Shusett) who were the primary screen writers for Dead and Buried. O’Bannon also wrote Dark Star.

It should be interesting watching this with my girlfriend as it actually is supposed to be a pretty decent film, plus I know the twist and she doesn’t.
