And we’re back! This episode of High and Low (Brow) will probably be a hit for those of you who listen just to hear me and James argue as the delay in posting this episode is almost solely due to James’ reluctance to stay in any location for more than five minutes. Compounding that issue, this episode proved to be a bit of a headache in post-production as the audio wasn’t recorded very well and at one point it almost looked like the entire episode was corrupted. Luckily I was able to eventually get everything worked out and sounding somewhat passable, so I apolagize in advance for any of the audio hiccups.

That all being said, this episode James and I focus on two films that are set on the road, them being Steven Spielberg’s feature film debut, Duel, and the odd amalgamation of a road movie/satanic cult film, Race with the Devil. Both involve killers, chase sequences and trucks getting the crap kicked out of them, but which one will be the better film?

As always be sure to sick around for the selection portion of the show, as our next episode’s theme was chosen by listener Mike Langlie (Liar Society and He did a terrific job, and our upcoming episode should be a real treat because of it. Also, be sure to stick around for the greatest stinger of all-time as James discovers the joys and horrors associated with

I review movies. I run a movie theatre. I annoy people. I let my dogs lick my face whenever they want. Sometimes I'm even a halfway decent human.

  1. I feel like I need to add something…. You can hear the door bell ring through your apt because your window and apt are like right next to the front door. So….i am surprised that not hearing the door bell ring didnt cause any red flags to go off in his mind.

    homies fo life.

  2. It’s been awhile since I’ve seen Duel, but it’s a model of efficiency and tension. And, it’s worth noting that Dennis Weaver turns in a really solid performance in, essentially, a one man show.
