Off the Record – Erica Anderson

Posted on Oct 29, 2015 by | 0 comments

I’ll be honest, I could sit down and talk with pretty much any member of the staff of Seed & Spark for hours about making movies, funding movies and distributing movies. I tend to agree with them on many areas of the industry, and even when I don’t I know I’m going to have an engaging conversation that challenges both of our views and helps us further the growth of this industry that we love. I’ve had the pleasure of talking with both Emily Best and Erica Anderson in the past at the Flyway Film Festival but we’d never had a chance to sit down and record our conversations. This year I wanted that to change, so I lured Julie Keck and Jessica King (of King is a Fink) out to the cabin I was staying at for the Flyway Film Festival so I could sit down with both to record a conversations with them, and as luck would have it, Erica Anderson tagged along.

Erica is the crowd funding guru for Seed & Spark and has been touring the country for much of the past year as part of the #stayindietour (it’s on the Internet). I’ve seen a couple of her seminars and wanted to pick her brain on a couple of things not quite directly related to her area of expertise but thankfully she was a good sport about letting me record much of the questioning. I hope you guys enjoy it.

And as always, thanks for listening.

I review movies. I run a movie theatre. I annoy people. I let my dogs lick my face whenever they want. Sometimes I'm even a halfway decent human.
