50 years ago, man set foot on the moon. Robert and Cody mark the occasion by discussing Al Reinert’s documentary FOR ALL MANKIND. Filmed on location with the astronauts who participated in the Apollo program speaking for themselves.

For All Mankind

Clearly, Hollywood has watched Reinert’s epic documentary, as it has been visually quoted many times. FOR ALL MANKIND is clearly the visual template for APOLLO 13, among other things, and stands as a visual inspiration for countless people.

For All Mankind

Most of all, FOR ALL MANKIND is a rumination on one of mankind’s greatest achievements and it’s profound effect on the men who participated in the mission. To a man, they all appreciate the accomplishment and how it affected their perception of the home and humanity as a whole.

For All Mankind

There’s great beauty on display throughout the film. Even something as gray as the Moon takes on an ethereal beauty. It’s no doubt helped by Brian Eno’s ambient, hypnotic score to accompany these one of a kind visuals.

For All Mankind

This collective effort inspires a long conversation about the film and about what it may or may not have changed. See, Cody and Robert don’t fight all the time.
