Still Watching the Skies: Episode 55 “Stalker”

Posted on Mar 16, 2019 by | 0 comments

Robert, Nat, and Cody take an immersive journey into the Zone with Andrei Tarkovsky’s 1979 film STALKER.

STALKER concerns a physical and spiritual quest to get to the heart of a mysterious zone where there’s a room that will grant your deepest desire. Maybe. Nothing is certain in the Zone and it’s a test of faith for each of the three characters on this quest.

The Zone is a virtual new Eden with the remains of man, his buildings and weapons, slowing decaying. The Stalker and his companions, The Writer and The Professor, journey into this mysterious world. Each has their own agenda which will be revealed. Each will have a fateful decision to make.

Andrei Tarkovsky is known for his slow cinema full of long takes. STALKER gives flow flower to those skills. Each shot is worthy of framing. And, there’s masterful direction throughout. Needless to say, we have a lot to discuss on this episode.

You’re not going to need to hire a guide for this journey. You can give us a play below or Download the episode. Also, feel free to let us know what you think by commenting below or Email Us at [email protected] as we appreciate feedback.
