This spooky month, Nat, Cody, and Robert dust off their singing voices for Frank Oz’s adaptation of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS.
Based on writer Howard Ashman’s and composer Alan Menken’s off-broadway musical (itself adapted from Roger Corman and Charles B. Griffith’s 1960 cult flick THE LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS), LITTLE SHOP tells the story of perennial loser Seymour Krelborn whose life is uprooted by the strange and interesting Audrey II, a mysterious plant that subsists in human blood.

As much a musical and a comedy as it is horror, LITTLE SHOP embraces the songs, style, and sadism of late-‘50s/early ‘60s America from the playfully jaded perspective of the 1980s.

It also showcases some of the top talent of the era, with appearances by Bill Murray, John Candy, Christopher Guest, John Belushi, and a show-stopping performance from Steve Martin — all anchored by Rick Moranis, Vincent Gardenia, Ellen Greene, reprising her role from the stage show, and the incomparable Levi Stubbs as Audrey II.

All that leads to a blossoming discussion on whether the stage magic carries over to the screen; which ending works better; and, of course, who’s having the Most Time of Their Life.
